4 Dead Including Police Officer in Manhattan Skyscraper Shooting
Washington DC - A shocking shooting incident in midtown Manhattan left four people dead, including a police officer, on July 27. The incident occurred inside a high-rise building on 45th Street, near one of New York City’s busiest commercial zones.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) confirmed that the attacker opened fire inside the skyscraper. Responding officers reached the scene quickly, but one of them was fatally shot during the exchange.
Three other victims — believed to be civilians — were also found dead at the scene. The shooter was neutralised on the spot, and the building was secured soon after. Investigators are working to determine whether the shooting was random or targeted.
The area around the skyscraper was immediately cordoned off, with emergency teams evacuating nearby buildings and treating survivors. Eyewitnesses reported chaos and panic as gunshots rang out in the normally busy commercial area.
Mayor Eric Adams expressed condolences and praised the police response, saying, “We lost a brave officer today. Our hearts go out to all the families affected.”
This incident has once again raised concerns about gun violence in the United States, especially in major cities like New York.
Authorities have launched a full investigation into the motive behind the attack and the background of the shooter.
