AAP Protests in Lucknow Against Closure of Public Schools in UP

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organized a major protest at Eco Garden in Lucknow on Saturday. The demonstration was held in response to the Uttar Pradesh government's decision to close public schools that fail to meet specific standards.

Party leaders and supporters raised concerns that shutting down these schools would harm the education of underprivileged children. Protesters held placards and shouted slogans, demanding that the government reverse its decision.

AAP representatives stated that instead of shutting schools, the state should work on improving their infrastructure and quality of education. They added that many students in rural and low-income areas depend on these institutions for basic education.

Local authorities maintained that the decision aims to improve overall standards in the state’s education system. However, critics argue that the move could increase dropout rates and limit access to schooling for marginalized communities.

The protest ended peacefully, and no law-and-order issues were reported. AAP has indicated that it will continue raising the issue both locally and at the state level.
