AAP criticizes BJP after court clears Satyendar Jain in CBI case

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a strong attack against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following a Delhi court’s decision to accept the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) closure report in a case involving former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain.

AAP leaders accused the BJP of misusing central agencies to target political opponents with what they described as “false and baseless” allegations. The case, which involved charges of money laundering and disproportionate assets, has now been officially closed by the CBI due to lack of sufficient evidence. The court accepted the closure report and dismissed further proceedings.

Reacting to the development, senior AAP leaders said that the case was politically motivated and intended to damage Jain’s image and the party’s credibility. They also stated that the legal outcome proves their long-standing claim that the accusations were fabricated.

The BJP, on the other hand, has not yet responded to AAP’s remarks following the court's decision. However, past statements by BJP leaders have consistently upheld their stand on accountability and corruption investigations.

Satyendar Jain, who held key portfolios in the Delhi government, had earlier been arrested in a separate case by the Enforcement Directorate and had remained in judicial custody for several months before being granted bail.

AAP has demanded a public apology from the BJP and called for accountability over what they describe as the misuse of investigative agencies for political gains.

The issue has once again reignited debates around the politicization of central investigative agencies in India.
