On World Nature Conversation Day we would highlight the remarkable contributions of Dia Mirza towards Nature and it's conversation.Dia Mirza, celebrated actor, filmmaker, model, and eco-entrepreneur, has emerged as one of India’s most committed advocates for environmental protection and social change. While Dia initially gained fame through her work in Indian cinema, her passion for the environment led her to a parallel path of activism. Leveraging her public presence, she has consistently promoted messages of environmental protection, climate action, and sustainability.
Global and National Roles of Dia Mirza led to UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador, United Nations Secretary-General’s Advocate for Sustainable Development Goals, Ambassador for Wildlife Trust of India (WTI), Artist Ambassador for Save the Children, Board Member of the Sanctuary Nature Foundation and Global Ambassador for the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW). One of the most notable aspects of Dia's activism is her work with the Wildlife Trust of India. As an ambassador, she has supported several initiatives including Gaj Yatra, a campaign aimed at raising awareness about elephant corridors. Dia has also spotlighted WTI’s efforts in rehabilitating orphaned elephants and rhino calves in Kaziranga, Assam, underlining her on-ground involvement and deep empathy for wildlife. She was honored with the prestigious ‘Wildlife Advocate of the Year Award’, celebrating her enduring impact on wildlife conservation in India.
