Former Karnataka MP Prajwal Revanna Convicted in Rape Case
Bengaluru — Former Member of Parliament Prajwal Revanna, who is the grandson of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, has been convicted in a rape case by a Karnataka court, marking a major development in the high-profile case.
Revanna was found guilty of sexually assaulting multiple women, many of whom were either employed by him or connected to his political circle. The case gained national attention earlier this year after several explicit videos surfaced online, allegedly involving him.
Investigations revealed that Revanna misused his power and position to exploit women over a period of time. Multiple FIRs were filed against him, and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) was appointed to probe the matter deeply.
After months of investigation and court proceedings, the court delivered its verdict, convicting him on charges of rape, sexual harassment, and criminal intimidation.
This case has caused major embarrassment for the JD(S) party, especially due to Revanna’s strong political lineage. Authorities say further legal action, including sentencing, will follow soon.
