Kasur Horror Assault on Young Girl Sparks Outrage in Pakistan

Islamabad-A shocking video of a young girl being molested in Pakistan’s Kasur district has sparked nationwide outrage, reviving memories of the city’s deeply troubling history of child abuse. The disturbing clip, which surfaced on social media on July 27, shows a man assaulting a minor girl riding a tricycle in a narrow alley, drawing widespread condemnation online.

Authorities acted swiftly, identifying and arresting the accused from the Dhanpat Road area of Kasur. According to the Punjab Police, the suspect was found in possession of an unlicensed weapon. He was injured in an encounter during the arrest and taken into custody.

Social media users and activists condemned the incident and called for stricter action. Many highlighted Kasur’s past scandals, including the 2018 rape and murder of 7-year-old Zainab Ansari and the exposure of a massive underage pornography ring in 2015 involving over 280 victims.

Child rights groups have urged the government to implement urgent reforms to protect minors, citing repeated failures in law enforcement and judicial processes. “Kasur remains a painful reminder of how vulnerable children still are in our society,” a rights activist said.

In response, Punjab Police reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring justice and announced further investigations into possible links to prior abuse cases.
