PM Modi Stresses Accountability and Vision in Parliament Amid Heated Debates

In a spirited session of Parliament on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed both Houses, emphasizing the need for political accountability, national unity, and long-term development planning. His speech came amid intense debates between the ruling NDA and the Opposition, which has been raising concerns over unemployment, inflation, and social unrest.

Speaking to a packed Lok Sabha, Modi called on all lawmakers to rise above partisan politics and work towards the greater goal of "Viksit Bharat" (Developed India) by 2047. “This House is not just a place of arguments, but of vision. We owe it to our people to keep the spirit of democracy alive with action, not obstruction,” he stated.

He also took indirect jabs at the Opposition for what he called “a lack of constructive participation,” highlighting the government's initiatives such as Digital India, Make in India, and the push towards renewable energy. Modi reiterated that his government has laid the foundation for a “new India,” citing GDP growth, infrastructure projects, and global diplomatic engagements as evidence.

The session was not without drama. Several Opposition MPs raised slogans and walked out during parts of the Prime Minister’s address, demanding a separate debate on alleged constitutional violations and the handling of recent communal tensions in some states.

Despite the disruptions, Modi maintained a composed tone, underscoring the importance of dialogue and reminding Parliamentarians of their duty to the people. “The public does not expect theatrics, they expect results,” he said.

The monsoon session continues to draw national attention as key bills related to data protection, electoral reforms, and women’s reservation await discussion.
