Prajwal Revanna Now Inmate No 15528 Is Earning 540 Rupees a Month
Hassan-born politician and former MP Prajwal Revanna, once a rising star of Karnataka’s political dynasties, now finds himself behind bars, stripped of title, power, and privilege. Registered as Prisoner No. 15528, Revanna is currently lodged in the convicts' section of Parappana Agrahara Central Jail, marking a stunning fall from grace.
Revanna, the grandson of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda and a JD(S) leader, was recently arrested in connection with a high-profile sexual assault and video scandal that shook Karnataka’s political core. His judicial custody has now shifted into formal imprisonment, with jail authorities confirming that he will remain in the general convict wing unless court orders say otherwise.
In line with prison norms, the former MP now earns a modest ₹540 per month for labour—a sharp contrast to the lifestyle he once enjoyed as a public representative. Sources indicate that he has been assigned basic duties and is subjected to the same routine and food as any other inmate.
Gone are the entourage and press flashes. In their place: prison uniforms, fixed meal timings, and silence.
The case against Revanna involves serious allegations that have sparked outrage across party lines and civil society. Investigators have uncovered dozens of allegedly explicit videos, leading to charges under multiple sections of the IPC and IT Act. The case is currently under fast-track review, with more victims stepping forward.
JD(S) leaders have remained tight-lipped, while opposition parties have seized the moment to target dynastic politics and demand structural reform. Meanwhile, Prajwal’s political future appears all but over—replaced by a number and a jail cell.
As the probe deepens and the legal process unfolds, many are watching closely—not just for justice, but for whether power can finally be held accountable behind prison walls.
