Trump mourns over No Thanks US gave 60 Dollars Aid to Gaza
US President Donald Trump expressed frustration over the lack of gratitude from the international community for the US's recent humanitarian aid to Gaza. In a meeting with EU Chief Ursula von Der Leyen in Scotland, Trump stated that the US has provided $60 million in food aid to Gaza two weeks prior, but "nobody even acknowledged it." He stated that the aid was given for humanitarian reasons, despite criticism from some quarters.
Trump's comments highlighted the disparity in international contributions to Gaza's humanitarian crisis, noting that while the US provided significant aid, European countries did not contribute anything. "We sent $60 million 2 weeks for food, to Gaza.
And nobody acknowledged it, nobody even talks about it, he expresses his agony. He further stated that it makes you feel a bit low when you do that, and you have other countries not giving ANYTHING," Trump said.
The US President also addressed the ongoing conflict in Gaza, mentioning the presence of Israeli hostages' bodies in the region. Trump stated that the Netanyahu-led government would need to make decisions regarding the hostages, with many families pushing for action. The humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire, with the territory facing significant challenges in accessing basic necessities like food and water. The international community continues to grapple with addressing the crisis, with some countries, like Australia, Canada, and Japan, condemning the "drip feeding of aid" and advocating for more substantial support.
