Uddhav was promised election victory through EVMs claims Sanjay Raut

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has alleged that two individuals had met party chief Uddhav Thackeray before a past Maharashtra election and assured him of a win through manipulation of Electronic Voting Machines. Raut said this matched a recent claim made by NCP founder Sharad Pawar about similar offers being made to other leaders.

Speaking to reporters, Raut claimed the meeting took place at Uddhav Thackeray’s residence and that the individuals promised a comfortable victory if their plan was accepted. He said the proposal was rejected outright by Thackeray, who insisted on fair elections.

Raut also said these incidents point towards a deeper problem in the electoral process and need urgent investigation. The Election Commission has not responded to the fresh allegations, while the ruling BJP has dismissed them as baseless and politically motivated.

The remarks come as political parties gear up for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections, with both the opposition and the ruling alliance intensifying their campaigns.
